ABOUT LENGTHY ROAD
Lengthy Road is maintained and updated by me, just your average joe, and has been operational since the summer of 2012.
MY HARDWARE
My primary machine is an old(er) HP desktop running Windows 7. It has undergone a handful of upgrades over the years, but the most recent (and useful thus far) has been the addition of an additional video card and monitor (if you’ve never used a dual screen setup you just won’t understand). In addition I am constantly connected to my iPhone 4S and iPad (3); both of which receive an equal if not greater amount of my attention than my desktop and are consistently used in the production of Lengthy Road.
SOFTWARE
I write using a handful of great applications, but those I tend to use most often are:
- Filezilla
- Evernote
- Omninote
- Byword
- Dropbox
SERVER
Lengthy Road is hosted on a Media Temple (dv) 512 server.
Everything published is done so through WordPress. A number of plugins are involved including FD Footnotes, W3 Total Cache and WP-Markdown. The design is an amalgamation of Standard by 8bit.io. This site is also routed through Cloudflare in an attempt to speed up delivery.
